Hello, Digital World!

I began this journey with WordPress and chose it again for my new website. A short history of the platform and the topics this blog will cover.

Hello, Digital World!

I wanted to write my first notes here using WordPress, a platform whose development, from its earliest days to today, reveals steady growth and increasing popularity.

Development of WordPress began in 2001, and it became publicly available in 2003. Its adoption has continued to grow since its launch. As its use became more widespread, its developers continually updated it to make it more useful, and development is still continuing.

With a wide range of plugins for different purposes, WordPress lets you quickly build a blog without programming knowledge. It also supports many other structures you can customise, including e-commerce and news websites.

WordPress did not offer Turkish language support up to and including version 2.0.1. In 2005, the WordPress Türkiye community began developing a Turkish language pack. First released in 2006, that pack arrived with version 2.0.2.

Until now, users tended to adopt updates and upgrade their installations fairly quickly. Version 4.7.3 (December 2016) is cited as the most stable release. Continued heavy use of the 4.x versions is largely attributed to the major editor problem introduced in version 5.x. Although many users therefore prefer an older version, searches for the Classic Editor plugin and its installation rate have also increased substantially.

We are waiting for WordPress to return with a better editor. Some page builder plugins required by themes in the 4.x versions are overridden by the default editor in 5.x, making editing difficult. Unsurprisingly, the response is often, “Where did this come from?”—followed by a return to a backup.

Hello, Digital World!

WordPress explains itself well enough; even when it does not, its users find ways to understand and assess it. Let us turn to what this blog will actually cover: SEO work and updates; the many misconceptions, updates and other details surrounding Google Ads; and ideas, information and developments relating to social media.

I write about technical SEO and AI visibility, interpreting findings in their business context.
