Google Search Console Insights now supports Google Analytics 4 properties, opening up access to more data.
Combining data from Search Console and Google Analytics, Search Console Insights provides a comprehensive overview of how people discover your content on the web. Since its launch in June 2021, Search Console Insights had been compatible only with Universal Analytics (UA) properties.
You can access Search Console Insights without Google Analytics, but linking the two gives you more extensive and meaningful data.
Analyzing Data in Search Console Insights
Google designed Search Console Insights to provide a snapshot of content performance over recent weeks. It displays only the last 28 days of GA data, sometimes compared with the preceding 28-day period.
Because the data is updated frequently, it is worth checking Search Console Insights regularly.
If you have a GA4 property but see no data in Insights after today’s update, there are several possible reasons:
- Your GSC property is not associated with a GA property.
- You do not have sufficient permissions in GA.
- You selected the wrong GA property in GSC.
